The Arizona Cardinals released tight end Evan Baylis on Monday, the team announced.

Baylis was signed to the 53-man roster on Saturday ahead of the Cardinals’ 20-17 loss to the New England Patriots.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder played the most snaps of his Cardinals career (five games) in the defeat, registering 22 on offense (30%) and nine on special teams (41%).

Baylis first joined the Cardinals practice squad on Sept. 29. He spent training camp with the Green Bay Packers after playing in five games with them last season.

The 26-year-old tight end entered the league as undrafted rookie free agent with the Houston Texans in 2017. He played in one game as a rookie.

Baylis could be a potential practice squad candidate for the team, having been with the organization for most of the season. Currently, Seth DeValve is the Cardinals’ lone practice squad tight end.

On the active roster, the Cardinals have Maxx Williams and Dan Arnold as the Cardinals’ two healthy tight ends. Darrell Daniels, however, was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury last on Saturday and will miss at least a few more weeks of action.
