Roster moves continue: Cook up, Brazoban down
The never-ending effort to improve the bullpen has led to another roster move for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Diamondbacks to send down Yhency Brazoban to make room for Ryan Cook. Brazoban had an ERA of 6.00
The 24-year-old Cook replaces Brazoban, who pitched in just six games for the Diamondbacks, and it is hoped that the right-hander can replicate the success he had with the team’s Double-A affiliate in Mobile.
There Cook pitched in 34 games, going 1-4 but with an ERA of just 2.25. He’s struck out 50 in just 44 innings while walking 14, and will likely take over seventh innings for the D-backs.
That has to be music to Diamondbacks’ fans ears, as the last time Brazoban pitched for Arizona he did not record an out while hitting one batter and walking two, allowing a pair of runs to score.
