PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks continued revamping their pitching staff by making a flurry of moves on Wednesday.

The team has selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Ryan Cook from Double-A Mobile and recalled right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw from Triple-A Reno and outrighted pitcher Yhency Brazoban and optioned pitcher Barry Enright to Reno, according to D-backs’ Executive Vice President and General Manager Kevin Towers.

Enright, 25, went 1-4 with a 7.41 ERA, 15 walks and 21 strikeouts in 7 starts over two separate stints with the D-backs.

Without Enright, the team will be looking for yet another fifth starter.

Barring a trade for a starter, the Dbacks will decide between Zach Duke and Micah Owings to start Sunday vs Coloradoless than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

The D-backs are hoping Cook and Shaw can bring some stability to the bullpen.

Cook, 24, posted a 1-4 record and 2.25 ERA with 14 walks and 50 strikeouts in 34 games with Mobile.

He converted 13-of-16 save opportunities, including a stretch of 11 consecutive saves from June 2-July 17.

Over parts of 4 seasons in the D-backs organization, he owns a 19-25 record and 3.81 ERA with 117 walks and 293 strikeouts in 90 games.

Cook was selected by the D-backs in the 27th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. He will wear No. 48 for his first stint in the Major Leagues.

Shaw, 23, posted a 1-0 record and 4.58 ERA with 4 walks and 15 strikeouts in 16 games over two separate stints with the Aces.

He converted each of his 9 save opportunities and held the opposition to a .222 average.

In 31 games between Reno and Double-A Mobile this season, he owned a 4-1 record and 16 saves with a 2.58 ERA, 12 walks and 30 strikeouts.

Shaw was selected to the D-backs on June 10 for his first stint in the Majors and posted a 4.15 ERA with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts in 5 games before being optioned to Reno on June 27.

Brazoban, 30, posted a 6.00 ERA with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts in 6 games with the D-backs.
