Inside the Box for July
24, 2011: Diamondbacks 7, Rockies 0

The Good:

Colorado couldn’t get Justin Upton out on Sunday as the Diamondbacks’ star went 4-4 with three RBI’s to lead the Arizona offense.

Micah Owings, back in the starting rotation, was stellar going five innings and giving up only two hits and no runs.

Zach Duke relieved Owings and threw four innings of shutout baseball to close out the game.

The Bad:

Geoff Blum got hurt and had to be removed from the game with a believed fractured finger on his right hand.

If that’s true, Blum will likely be headed back to the disabled list.

In addition to the Diamondbacks’ on-field performance, it’s worth noting the impact of financial markets on various sectors. Bitcoin, for example, has reached new heights recently.
