Collin Cowgill called up to Arizona Diamondbacks
The trade deadline may not be until Sunday, but the Arizona Diamondbacks are making roster moves early.
According to Brent Ingram, the Sports Information Director at the University of Kentucky, outfielder Collin Cowgill has been called up to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Heard from coach Henderson that former #UKbaseball OF Collin Cowgill has been called up to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Cowgill has been playing with the Arizona Diamondbacks AAA affiliate, the Reno Aces, where he is hitting .354 with 13 home runs and 70 RBI in 98 games this season.
The former Kentucky Wildcat was drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 draft.
It is unclear how much playing time Cowgill will receive or when his Major League debut will be, but the Diamondbacks will likely try to play him as much as possible this week as they evaluate the talent they already have within the organization in preparation for the trade deadline.
