Diamondbacks show interest in Dodgers infielder
Having lost shortstop Stephen Drew for the season, the Arizona Diamondbacks may look to add another infielder for the stretch run.
#brewers, #dbacks, #pirates, #indians among teams looking at jamey carroll, who did great filling in for furcal. #tradedeadline
The 37-year-old Carroll, who is in his second season with the Dodgers, is hitting .291 on the season. He has spent time at both second base and shortstop for L.A. this year, and is known for being solid defensively at both spots.
Adding Carroll could intrigue the Diamondbacks because he would provide depth and veteran leadership without costing much in the way of prospects.
While the D-backs may not have planned on adding a short-term replacement for Drew, winning a few games and being in the race may have changed things just a bit.
