After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and
provide you with instant analysis. So it’s time to go
Inside the Box for July
29, 2011: Dodgers 9, Diamondbacks 5

The Good:

The Diamondbacks hit three home runs in the game as Justin Upton, Ryan Roberts and Willie Bloomquist all went yard for Arizona.

The Bad:

Starter Josh Collmenter had a rough night giving up five runs on seven hits while not being able to make it out of the fourth inning.

Collmenter got hit by a line drive in the game and was never the same afterward with Matt Kemp’s three-run homer in the third inning being the crushing blow in this game.

The bullpen struggled in relief of Collmenter as Alberto Castillo and Sam Demel each gave up two runs putting the game out of reach from an Arizona comeback.
