Cardinals activate WR Larry Fitzgerald from COVID-19 list

The Arizona Cardinals activated wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday.
The wideout was originally placed on the list on Nov. 26 along with fellow wide receiver Trent Sherfield. Sherfield was activated off the COVID-19 list last Wednesday.
The duo was the fifth and sixth Cardinals players to test positive for the coronavirus, joining safety Deionte Thompson, wide receiver KeeSean Johnson, cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. and pass rusher Devon Kennard.
Fitzgerald has caught 43 balls for 336 receiving yards this season. He has yet to find the end zone, but sits third on the team in yards and second in receptions despite missing the last two contests.
Before being placed on the COVID-19 list, Fitzgerald had started 94 straight games dating back to the Week 14 of the 2014 regular season.
All told, Fitzgerald has 17,419 receiving yards and 120 touchdowns in his 17-season NFL career, all with the Cardinals.
The Cardinals struggled in the two games Fitzgerald missed.
Following a 20-17 loss to the New England Patriots, the Cardinals were stymied by the Los Angeles Rams at home.
Fitzgerald will look to take advantage of a New York Giants team that has allowed 17 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers.
