Diamondbacks add bullpen help through trade
Looks like the Arizona Diamondbacks, just one day after
adding a piece to their starting rotation, found the
bullpen help they’d been seeking for months.
#mlb #Dbacks send Brandon Allen and Jordan
Norberto to #Athletics for Ziegler.
Ziegler, 31, has been very productive in his four Major
League seasons, compiling a 2.49 ERA and 19 saves.
This season he has a 2.39 ERA in 37.2 innings pitched, and
has not allowed a home run. He will likely pitch in the
seventh inning for the D-backs.
In Norberto and Allen the D-backs gave up a couple of
players who, while flashing potential, have yet to put it
together at the Major League level.
Allen, in particular, had been given a shot to claim the
first base job, but has hit just .172 since being called
up. He does, however, have three home runs, including one
monster blast that went over the right field foul pole in
Chase Field.
