Will Paul Goldschmidt finally get a shot at
Major League pitching?
The 23-year-old has been tearing up the Minor Leagues —
especially this season — hitting .306 with 30 home runs
and 94 RBI for Double-A Mobile.
Just
heard from someone in Mobile who tells me Goldschmidt is
getting promoted.
From Double-A “promoted” could mean to Triple-A Reno, but
we’ll go ahead and figure he’s going to skip that step and
go straight to the Majors.
D-backs fans are probably excited about this news, and
rightfully so. The team’s latest trade frees up a spot at
first base, and the team is still hoping to find a long-
term answer at the position.
Is Goldschmidt, an 8th round pick in the 2009 MLB Draft
the guy? Appears we’ll find out soon.
