The Arizona Cardinals made a series of roster moves on Saturday ahead of the team’s road game against the New York Giants.
Kicker Zane Gonzalez has been ruled out for Sunday’s game due to a back injury, while cornerback Johnathan Joseph was placed on the injured reserve with a neck injury.
The Cardinals activated defensive lineman Jordan Phillips and cornerback Kevin Peterson from the IR. Tight end Seth DeValve and kicker Mike Nugent were also elevated from the team’s practice squad for Sunday’s game.
They also announced the release of defensive lineman Trevon Coley, capping off a plethora of roster activity ahead of the team’s road trip to the Meadowlands.
Peterson had been on IR since suffering a concussion on Nov. 11, while Phillips suffered a hamstring injury that put him on the list on Nov. 19.
DeValve signed with the Cardinals’ practice squad on Nov. 25 and appeared in the team’s 38-28 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13.
Nugent was signed to the team’s practice squad on Sept. 18, after playing 15 NFL seasons with Jets, Cardinals, Buccaneers, Bengals, Bears, Cowboys, Raiders and Patriots.
The 16th-year kicker was drafted 47th overall by the New York Jets in 2005. He has made 258 field goals in his career, converting 80.9% of his attempts in his career.
