Inside the Box: D-backs score comeback win

After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s time to go Inside the Box for August 9, 2011: Diamondbacks 11, Astros 9
The Good:
The Diamondbacks were down 7-1 in the fourth inning but refused to give up.
They scored four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings and finished off their comeback win with a J.J. Putz save.
Leading the offensive attack for Arizona was Justin Upton, Miguel Montero and Gerardo Parra.
Upton went 3-5 with four RBI’s including a huge two-run home run, his 23rd on the season, in the sixth inning that put Arizona up for good.
Parra was a perfect 4-4 on the night and Montero was 3-4 with three RBI’s.
Although the bullpen had some scary moments, Micah Owings, David Hernandez and Putz were able to protect the lead and finish off the Astros.
The Bad:
Starter Jason Marquis was completely ineffective in his second straight start since being acquired by the Diamondbacks.
Marquis only lasted four innings giving up seven runs.
He didn’t get any help from his defense though as Diamondback fielders committed two errors during his time on the mound and another later in the game.
