Arizona junior guard Jemarl Baker Jr. was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Monday.

Baker averaged 19.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in three games. That included a career-high 33-point effort in a win against Northern Arizona, shooting 12-of-16 from the field and 7-for-9 at three-point range.

The redshirt junior guard is the first Arizona player to win the award in over two seasons, with center Dusan Ristic being the last recipient in January of 2018.

The Wildcats have started the season 5-0, picking up victories in all those games for Baker that week. On top of the win over the Lumberjacks, they defeated CSU Bakersfield and UTEP.

With a non-conference affair against California Baptist on tap for Wednesday, Arizona begins conference play on Saturday playing Stanford on the road. It’ll face Montana on Dec. 22 before going into strictly Pac-12 opposition the rest of the season.
