The Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday designated tight end Darrell Daniels and defensive end Josh Mauro to return from injured reserve.
Daniels has not played since a Nov. 15 win over the Buffalo Bills because of an ankle injury. He was not placed on IR until Nov. 28.
The tight end, who is second among his position group with 301 offensive snaps this year, has six catches for 83 yards and a touchdown so far.
Daniels has split time with Arizona’s other primary tight ends, Maxx Williams (276 snaps) and Dan Arnold (375 snaps), throughout 2020.
Mauro also went on injured reserve on Nov. 28. He joined the Cardinals in late October and was signed off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad.
Making his 2020 debut with Arizona, Mauro saw immediate playing time because of injuries across the Cardinals’ defensive line and recorded a sack in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins. He appeared in two more games before a hamstring injury sidelined him.
Daniels and Mauro can begin practicing with the team and can be activated to the 53-man roster during or after the next 21 days.
