ESPN insider picks D-backs to win NL West

PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks currently have a five game lead in the NL West over the San Francisco Giants.

It has led some to believe the division is now Arizona’s to lose over the final month of the season.

“I’m not going to say the Giants are done, but I think the D-backs will win the division,” said ESPN insider Tim Kurkjian on the Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and Gambo show on Tuesday.

Kurkjian has been stunned at how Arizona has put themselves in this position to win the division.

“Sometimes when you can’t explain how certain things are happening, that’s why they are happening. There’s enough good karma going around that you start to say something specials’ going on here.”

“I’m officially on the bandwagon now,” said Kurkjian.

Arizona has gone through some struggles offensively at times this season, however, the ESPN analyst just doesn’t believe the Giants have what it takes to overcome the D-backs.

“The Giants are in big trouble. They’re just not going to be able to find the magic that they had last season.”

“We joke about Arizona’s line-up, but look at San Francisco’s line-up. How are they going to win,” said Kurkjian.

With a five game lead in the division with only a month left in the season, Arizona is definitely the favorite at this point, so let’s hope the clock doesn’t strike midnight on these Cinderella Diamondbacks in the last month.
