Diamondbacks add Blum, others to roster

The calendar has turned to the month of September, meaning MLB rosters can expand.
Thursday the Diamondbacks began adding to their roster, as they reinstated infielder Geoff Blum and pitcher Alberto Castillo, while recalling pitchers Ryan Cook and Sam Demel.
The 38-year-old Blum has been on the disabled list since fracturing his right pinky finger on July 24th. He’s hit .200 with two RBI in seven games for the D-backs this season.
Castillo, Cook and Demel will give Gibson a few more arms to turn to in the pen.
