The Arizona Cardinals offense will be missing wide receiver Christian Kirk and may be down Larry Fitzgerald as well against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
There’s hope that they won’t be missing a piece of their running back room, too.
The Cardinals are “optimistic” that Chase Edmonds will play in the must-win matchup, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Edmonds is viewed as a game-time decision after being listed as questionable during the week with a hip injury. He missed all three practices this week.
He initially hurt his hip during the first half of last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. He was initially ruled as questionable before being downgraded in the third quarter. He finished the game with two receptions for eight yards.
In total, the third-year running back has 451 rushing yards on 94 carries and 374 receiving yards on 51 receptions. He has a five touchdowns this season. Edmonds started two games this season.
He has struggled with injuries in recent weeks, though, also missing a practice before the Niners game due to ankle and knee issues.
The winner of this game will make the playoffs as a Wild Card team. If the Cardinals lose, their season will be over.
Kickoff is scheduled to 2:25 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station to listen live.
