Arizona State football may have not gone on to a bowl game, but head coach Herm Edwards is taking part in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday.

Edwards will virtually join former NFL referee John Parry, former SEC referee Matt Austin and ESPN commentator Jason Benetti on a special “Refcast” broadcast to break down the matchup between No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Ohio State.

The broadcast featuring Edwards will be streamed live on the ESPN app.

Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit are set to call the game on the main broadcast, with Maria Taylor reporting from the sideline at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Meanwhile, Edwards will provide a coaching perspective for the Refcast, with veteran referees Parry and Austin offering the officials’ perspective.

Edwards previously worked for ESPN as a NFL analyst from 2009-2017 before being hired to lead the Sun Devils.

ESPN plans to stream a “MegaCast” of 14 different broadcasts of the game across TV, radio and their app, including the Refcast, a Skycast, a Film Room and a DataCenter.

Approximately 100 cameras will be used to provide every angle of the game, while more than 100 microphones will be placed throughout to capture the sounds of the stadium.
