The basketball term microwave scorer is not apt for Phoenix Suns guard Langston Galloway. A microwave slowly rotates and hums. Galloway is more like a flamethrower.
As the 10th man in the Suns’ rotation, Galloway picks up any spare wing minutes head coach Monty Williams can give him. Sometimes that’s 10. Sometimes that’s zero.
But whatever amount of playing time he gets, the veteran swingman has proven that he can get hot quickly and doesn’t need to settle in.
Galloway against the Detroit Pistons (his former team) on Friday hit his first six shots, scoring 17 points in only eight minutes of the second quarter.
The 29-year-old has a signature quick trigger, where defenders have to be right up on him as the ball is coming his way to have any chance at a decent contest.

So that means that once Galloway gets in his rhythm, he can hit ridiculous shots like this one on a heat check.

Galloway’s explosion in the first half continued a trend of the Suns’ starting five struggling to have a strong offensive start, followed by the bench making up for it through the first set of rotations.
A lot of that has been via the three-ball. The game after Phoenix converted on 21 three-pointers in a win over the Toronto Raptors Wednesday, the Suns hit 12 three-pointers in the first half against the Pistons Friday. The Suns led by eight through the first two quarters.
A cold streak of shooting for the Suns doomed them the rest of the game, though, and they fell in overtime to the Pistons 110-105.
