Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins started his offseason with a fine.

The NFL penalized him $28,075 for arguing a call and then raising his middle finger at the official during the Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

According to the Cardinals website, that fine is the level for a first offense of a “verbal or other non-physical offense against official.”

Hopkins was arguing an offensive pass interference call that wiped out a 42-yard reception in the second half of the game. The Cardinals were trailing 15-7 at the time and the catch would have put them inside the 10-yard line had it stood.

The Cardinals fell 18-7 in a loss that knocked them out of the race for the postseason. They finished their season with an 8-8 record, third in the NFC West.

Hopkins was named a second-team All-Pro on Friday. He finished the season with 115 receptions for 1,407 yards and six touchdowns. His receptions were tied for the second-most in the league and his yards ranked third.

This is the fifth time he has been named to an All-Pro team. He was a first-team member from 2017-19 and made the second team in 2015.

He was also named to the Pro Bowl for the fifth time in his career.
