The Arizona Diamondbacks reached contract agreements with three arbitration-eligible players on Friday, the team confirmed.

The Athletic’s Zach Buchanan first reported the team avoided arbitration with catcher Carson Kelly and starting pitchers Caleb Smith and Luke Weaver.

Buchanan adds that Smith settled with the D-backs for $1.465 million, while Weaver and Arizona settled at $1.950 million.

Kelly and the team settled for $1.7 million, according to AZCentral’s Nick Piecoro.

The D-backs had until 11 a.m. Arizona time to reach contract agreements with the trio.

Last season, Kelly hit .221 with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 39 games behind the plate for the D-backs. He figures to return to the starting lineup in 2021.

Weaver posted a 1-9 record in 12 starts to go along with a 6.58 ERA in 2020 after coming back from a forearm strain a year prior. Smith put up a 2.45 ERA in four appearances (three starts) last season.

The pitching duo should figure to play a part in the team’s starting rotation along with Madison Bumgarner, Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly.
