Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald and former swimmer Michael Phelps are among the celebrities who will play in the 2021 Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro-Am on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
The WM Phoenix Open will announce the full list of pro-am participants on Tuesday, Feb. 2, but last week said the highlighted list of participants includes Fitzgerald, Golf Channel correspondent Alexandra O’Laughlin, LPGA player Gerina Piller and actor Rob Riggle.
The event organizers said on Monday that Phelps and country music star Darius Rucker committed to join the Pro Am.
Phelps won 28 medals during his Olympic swimming career, 23 for gold. Rucker is a three-time Grammy Award winner.
Fitzgerald, who is a fixture in the event’s pro-am, recently finished his 17th season with the Cardinals and, as a free agent, has not decided whether he will return for another NFL go-around.
Riggle, a comedian and actor, has starred in “The Hangover,” “The Other Guys,” “Let’s Be Cops,” “Dumb & Dumber Two,” “21 Jump Street” and more.
Piller is a Waste Management ambassador with 36 career top-10 finishes over a seven-year career.
O’Laughlin has been a digital and social correspondent for the Golf Channel and is featured in the segment “Go Around with Alexandra O’Laughlin.”
Tee times for the pro-am will range from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
A week ago, the tournament announced it will be limiting fan attendance this year to 5,000 spectators per day, Wednesday through Sunday, due to COVID-19 concerns in the state.
