The Waste Management Phoenix Open added more familiar faces to its celebrity pro-am on Thursday.

The tournament announced that Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, along with former Phoenix Sun and Grand Canyon head coach Dan Majerle, will be joining the ranks of the 2021 Annexus Pro-Am on Feb. 3.

Also making the celebrity tournament is Barstool Sports’ Riggs.

Peterson just enjoyed his 10th year as a Cardinal in 2020, recording 61 tackles, three interceptions and eight passes defensed.

The cornerback has made eight-straight Pro Bowl appearances during his time in the desert, earning First-Team All-Pro nods three times (2011, 2013, 2015).

Majerle played eight of his 14 NBA seasons for the Suns. He was named to three All-Star teams (1992, 1993, 1995). Following his playing days, “Thunder Dan” took over as assistant head coach of the Suns from 2008-13. He later joined GCU as the team’s head coach for seven seasons.

Thursday’s commitments now joins the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Archie Bradley, Michael Phelps, Zac Gallen and Darius Rucker, among others, who are set to tee it up in the pro-am.

The news of the latest additions comes after the tournament announced that Feb. 3 would be declared “The People’s Day at the People’s Open.” Anyone with a general admission ticket for that Wednesday will be able to take in the iconic No. 16.

“Waste Management Phoenix Open fans are some of the greatest fans in all of golf,” tournament chairman Scott Jenkins said in a press release. “We are very excited to provide a special opportunity for our fans to experience the iconic 16th hole in a socially distanced and responsible way.

“Our strict COVID safety protocols, such as mandatory wearing of masks, will be enforced throughout the entire tournament, including the 16th hole.”

The 16th hole is subject to strict capacity limitations.
