Multiple sources are reporting that the Arizona Diamondbacks
have agreed to a new two-year contract with second baseman
Aaron Hill.
Buster Olney of ESPN is reporting that the deal is worth $11
million.
Hill was acquired in a trade from the Toronto Blue Jays
along with John McDonald on August 23rd. The deal sent
second baseman Kelly Johnson to the Jays. Hill hit .315 in
33 regular season games after the trade, adding two home
runs and 16 runs batted in. The Diamondbacks went 24-9
after the trade was made and they won the National League
West by a comfortable 8-game margin over the San Francisco
Giants.
Hill batted .278 (5-for-18) with a home run and one run
batted in during Arizona’s 5-game NLDS loss to the Milwaukee
Brewers.
