Keyshawn Johnson comes through on charity donations for Cardinals wager

Keyshawn Johnson had a fun little reason to be mindful of Arizona Cardinals results throughout the 2020 NFL season.
The ESPN NFL analyst on his own radio show in September didn’t believe the hype of the Cardinals after a 2-0 start, saying “they are a 6-7 game win-type team, even though they got two under their belt already.”
Naturally, Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro of Burns and Gambo saw this and challenged Johnson to a friendly wager involving donations to charity if certain win totals were or were not met.
How about $500 for 7 plus wins and $1000 if you win the division? How about that Gambo?

That magic number of eight wins was met by the Cardinals, and Johnson paid up to some good causes.

As loyal listeners of Burns & Gambo know, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) is a wildlife charity that is an effort to keep every whale and dolphin safe. Johnson’s other donation went to the Save the Family Foundation of Arizona, a non-profit agency that provides housing and supportive services to homeless families.
Johnson joined the show on Tuesday for the first time since losing the bet.
“It was more about the donation than it was about the Cardinals not living up to their end of the bargain on my side,” Johnson said. “It was more about that, having fun along the way.”
And if you thought this was the end of this story, Johnson told the show and the Cardinals fans listening they aren’t done yet and he wants another Cardinals bet for next season.
“Tell the Red Sea to make sure that they get life jackets,” he said.
