Newsmakers Week: Kevin Towers joins Doug and Wolf

Feb 14, 2012, 6:25 AM | Updated: 6:08 pm

The same day that Diamondbacks team president and CEO
Derrick Hall joined Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf for
the start of their fifth Newsmakers week, General Manager
Kevin Towers followed suit.

Towers candidly discussed the D-backs philosophy, the
importance of employing character guys in their locker
room, his proudest offseason moments, reflections from an
immensely successful 2011 campaign and the goals for the
year ahead.

“You want guys that have high expectations,” Towers said.
“I know that I have high expectations — I did when I took
this job. Certainly Kirk Gibson and that coaching staff do
as well, and I think after about six weeks into last
season after a tough Spring Training where we worked on a
lot of things, our guys started having some expectations.”
