Monday’s afternoon matchup between the Arizona State Sun Devils and Washington State has been postponed due to coronavirus protocol concerns within the Cougars’ program.
Washington State announced the postponement 50 minutes before the matchup’s scheduled 1 p.m. tip.
“Due to recent health and safety developments within the Washington State basketball program working within the university’s COVID-19 protocol, the Cougar men’s basketball game at Arizona State, scheduled for Monday, March 1, has been postponed,” WSU said in a press release.
“The game may be rescheduled at Las Vegas if a date and time can be found.”
The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 31, but was postponed due to COVID-19 developments within ASU’s ranks.
The postponement marks the ninth game to be called off this season for the Sun Devils, who entered play Monday on a three-game winning streak.
The Sun Devils will look to return to the hardwood Thursday when they take on the Colorado Buffaloes. Tune to ESPN 620 AM at 7 p.m. for all the action.
