The Arizona Diamondbacks have reportedly agreed to a minor league contract with 26-year-old pitcher, Heath Fillmyer.
The deal, which was reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan, gives the D-backs some pitching depth in spring training.
Fillmyer has posted a 4-4 record with a 5.07 ERA and 0.4 career WAR in two seasons with the Royals in 2018 and 2019, appearing in 29 games during that span.
His time with the Royals saw Fillmyer start 16 contests, striking out 72 batters over 104 2/3 innings of work in the Show.
Fillmyer’s best MLB season was his rookie campaign in 2018, when he posted a 4-2 record and a 4.26 ERA over 82 1/3 innings pitched.
The former fifth round draft pick previously pitched in the Royals and Oakland Athletics’ minor league system, posting a 32-36 record across all levels with a 4.80 ERA during that span.
