Phoenix Rising FC announced on Thursday that its new apparel sponsor will be Adidas.

The deal will last six years through the 2026 USL Championship season, which will conclude after the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

PRFC had previously been with Macron from 2018-2020.

“As a footballing club when you switch to Adidas or become an Adidas organization, when they send you gear, it tends to fit perfectly right away and feel perfect,” manager Rick Schantz said. “When I was a player I was an Adidas guy. … I don’t mind the very straightforward, clean professional work. It’s something that I think is sharp. I like that historical value.

“But what I’m hearing from the players, the material and fit has been fantastic. The shorts are a little shorter than Macron.”

As Phoenix Rising’s new kit and equipment provider, Adidas will outfit all players, coaches, staff and youth players.

The release of the 2021 matchday kits will be unveiled prior to the 2021 USL Championship season kickoff around May 1.

Adidas is an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup and is also the provider of the match ball for the tournament.

In addition to all of MLS, the three stripes are kit suppliers for world giants Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, as well as the German and Argentina national teams.

“The 2021 season is set to be an exciting year for Phoenix Rising,” GM Bobby Dulle said in a press release. “Partnering with the No. 1 soccer brand in the world will help us elevate our footprint in the community and grow the game at the youth and academy levels in Arizona.”
