The Arizona Diamondbacks got a big boost Friday as the team
reinstated outfielder Chris Young to the major league
roster.
Young, who was placed on the disabled list with a right
shoulder contusion on April 18, hit .410 with five home runs
and 13 RBI in the team’s first 11 games.
He rejoins the D-backs after four rehab games with Single-A
Visalia and Triple-A Reno, going 4-for-15 with three
doubles, one home run and eight RBI.
To make room for Young the D-backs have optioned outfielder
A.J. Pollock to Triple-A Reno. Pollock hit .229 with one
home run and four RBI in 20 games with the team.
