The Phoenix Suns will have to prepare for a new addition to the Indiana Pacers before the two teams tip-off on Saturday.
That’s because guard Caris LeVert will reportedly be making his Pacers debut against the Suns, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
LeVert was traded to Indiana from Brooklyn in the January blockbuster deal that saw James Harden go from the Houston Rockets to the Nets.
However, the guard hasn’t played since Jan. 12 after surgery was required to treat renal cell carcinoma on a kidney following its discovery during a physical examination as a result of the trade.
In 12 games for the Nets this season (four starts), LeVert averaged 18.5 points, 6 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 27.8 minutes per contest. He also shot 43.5% from the field and 34.9% from three-point land.
The Suns are coming off of a 127-121 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers that extended the team’s winning streak that started on Feb. 26 to five in a row.
Coincidentally, it was LeVert’s missed game-winning jumper at the buzzer against the Trail Blazers in the final game of last year’s NBA bubble that sent Portland to the play-in game over Phoenix and ended the Suns’ playoff hopes.
Phoenix’s 25-11 record continues to hold as the second-best record in both the NBA and Western Conference behind only the Utah Jazz at 27-9.
The Suns will host the Pacers at Phoenix Suns Arena on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
