The Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday optioned right-handed pitchers J.B. Bukauskas and Corbin Martin, outfielder Stuart Fairchild, plus infielder Geraldo Perdomo to Triple-A Reno.
The team also reassigned infielder Seth Beer to minor league camp.
Beer, Bukauskas and Martin were all pieces acquired from the Houston Astros in the July 2019 trade of ace Zack Greinke.
This spring, Bukauskas held up well in relief with nine strikeouts in four one-inning performances. He did not walk a batter or allow a hit.
Martin made three appearances and in 6.1 innings allowed six earned runs and seven hits with four walks to three strikeouts.
The 21-year-old Perdomo got looks as a reserve shortstop and batted .222, while Beer’s bat never got going in 11 at-bats. He slashed .182/.308/.273.
Fairchild got extensive work with the D-backs’ outfield depth chart taking hits this spring due to the injury of Kole Calhoun and Tim Locastro’s stint away from the team due to COVID-19 protocols.
Fairchild recorded seven hits in 23 at-bats but struck out 10 times.
