D-backs’ Upton makes successful return to lineup

Arizona Diamondbacks struggling slugger Justin Upton was back in the lineup Friday against the Oakland Athletics.
Upton, who was benched for the last two games, went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a walk in the D-backs’ 9-8 walk-off win against the A’s.
D-backs manager Kirk Gibson hoped some time off would help his right fielder find his groove.
Upton is batting an abysmal .249 this season and his troubles have certainly been well-documented.
But, if his performance Friday is any indication, the D-backs’ franchise star showed positive signs towards busting out of his slump.
