One-on-one with the Arizona Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald

Just try and keep up with Larry Fitzgerald, right? From NFL defenders to members of the media, the frenetic Fitz always gets a step, maintaining a pace that keeps the Pro Bowler on a constant fly pattern. So, instead of getting beat, we got smart. “Hey, Larry, if you can’t sit down long enough for an interview, how ’bout fielding questions via text message? Sure. Just text your answers during down time in your day…” Here we go. Ready, break!

PC: Lastly, all the fans will say - "Hey, Calvisi, did you ask Larry how HE handicaps the QB's and who HE wants?"

LF: I leave that up to management to make those calls. I just do my job and catch it when it comes my way. When you start to worry about other folks' jobs, you neglect yours.

PC: Analysts speculate that the Cards next QB will determine & dictate your future in AZ. How much truth in that?

LF: No truth to that rumor. I want to be in AZ. We will see when we go back to work if the feeling is mutual.

PC: How well would Matt Hasselbeck fit the Cards offense and what do you think of Hasselbeck?

LF: Hasselbeck is a proven winner and has a wealth of experience and would be an asset wherever he lands. I just want him out of our division. LOL.

PC: What comes to mind with Kevin Kolb and his game?

LF: I don't know Kolb, but I've seen him play. He's mobile and made some really good plays when given the chance in Philly. He just hasn't had much time to play yet, but anybody that has watched football can see that he has a wealth of ability.

PC: What do you specifically look for in a QB - skills and traits?

LF: In a QB - a winner. We have those guys on our roster already. I'm interested to see what is going to happen moving forward.

PC: Before we talk football, will your agent be among those talking contract w/Cards when the window opens?

LF: To be honest, it's been so long, I have no idea where those will go. There are far greater needs that need addressing than me. I have a year left on my deal. Deuce, Lyle Sendlein, Steve Breaston, Michael Adams, Tim Hightower, Ben Graham & free agents all need to be done for the start of the season.
