The Arizona Diamondbacks made one roster move ahead of Sunday’s spring matchup against the Chicago White Sox.
The team announced right-handed pitcher Ben Heller has been reassigned to minor league camp.
As a result, the D-backs are now down to 39 players at spring training camp.
Heller was originally drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 22nd round of the 2013 MLB Draft and was later traded to the New York Yankees in 2016.
The righty missed all of the 2018 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery and returned to pitch in six games in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He had a 3.00 ERA over six innings of relief in six games last year.
Heller signed a minor-league deal with the D-backs in February.
