Vonnie Holliday was drafted by the Green Bay Packers with
the 19th pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, and has found a way
to
carve out an impressive, long career in the league.
Entering his 15th season in the league — and second with
the Cardinals — the veteran admits he’s a little
surprised
to have lasted this long in the NFL.
“I had no idea,” Holliday told Arizona Sports 620’s Burns
and Gambo about whether or not he thought he’d last this
long. “I came into a situation when Reggie White was
there,
you know he’s an old guy, Brett Favre and all those guys.
“For me, three-and-a-half years is an average career, I
was
just trying to get through that first contract.”
He’s done that and more.
