The Arizona Cardinals added seven players in last week’s NFL Draft.
Whether or not it was a good haul of talent is up for debate, with the answer not likely to be known for at least a few seasons.
But that doesn’t stop people from handing out grades, and it certainly won’t prevent some from looking at the the NFL’s landscape right now and trying to project who is best.
That’s where ESPN’s post-draft Power Rankings come in.
The Cardinals are No. 8 in the rankings, which were released May 5. They moved up two spots from their previous ranking, which came out when the 2014 regular season ended.
The Cardinals drafted OT D.J. Humphries 24th overall, the first OT drafted by the Cardinals since 2007. No surprise after losing two quarterbacks to injury last season.
With a return to health by some key players along with a draft class the Cardinals say, “has tremendous upside,” it’s not unreasonable to think the team will once again be one of the best in the NFC.
