The Arizona Cardinals claimed Alfonzo Dennard off of waivers from the New England Patriots, adding some experience to their cornerback depth.

Dennard, 25, was released by the Patriots on Tuesday.

Dennard appeared in six games for the New England Patriots last year — starting four of them — and tallied 15 total tackles along with one interception and one pass defensed. He was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring issue on December 27.

A seventh-round pick out of Nebraska in 2012, he has tallied 92 total tackles and five interceptions and 17 passes defensed in 29 career games, all with New England.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound corner joins a group that includes Patrick Peterson, Jerraud Powers and Justin Bethel along with Jimmy Legree, Damond Smith, Ross Weaver, Eddie Whitley, Darren Woodard, Cariel Brooks and C.J. Roberts.
