One of the Arizona Cardinals’ draft needs, according to most, was the inside linebacker position.

With the uncertain futures of Daryl Washington, who is still under league suspension, and Larry Foote, who is contemplating retirement, the Cardinals are thin in both numbers and experience.

However, Arizona didn’t draft an inside backer among their seven selections last weekend.

But according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun and National Football Post, the Cardinals could still be looking for help.

Wilson reported that veteran free-agent linebacker Darryl Sharpton has visited with the team.

Sharpton, 27, spent the 2014 season with the Chicago Bears, playing in five games (two starts), registering 15 total tackles.

He had signed a one-year contract with the Washington Redskins in March of 2014, but was placed on injured reserve in training camp.

The former Miami Hurricane was originally a fourth-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2010 and spent four seasons with the club. His best season came in 2013, when he played in 15 games, starting eight, and racking up 55 total tackles and two forced fumbles.
