It was announced Monday that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be suspended the first four games of the upcoming NFL season as a result of his role in “DeflateGate”. Additionally, the Patriots will lose a first round pick in 2016 and 2017 and will be fined $1 million.
Brady will miss the Patriots’ season opener versus Pittsburgh, as well as the next three games at Buffalo, vs. Jacksonville and at Dallas. Brady’s backup, second-year signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo, is expected to assume the starting role in Brady’s stead.
Reaction from NFL luminaries on social media has come fast and furious in response to the NFL’s ruling, as many both in support and in opposition of the league’s verdict have voiced their opinion. Locally, the early sentiment from current and former Cardinals appears to support league’s decision.
You have to the love the patriots . They do anything to win a Super Bowl . #mytypeofteam😊

Do you guys see taking air out of the balls as an advantage? I do, there's a reason those balls were lower than regulation. #Deflategate

You know @nflcommish won't be getting any more invites to Robert Kraft's crib anytime soon! He might even ask for some of his gifts back.
