The Arizona Diamondbacks have reinstated pitcher Joe Saunders from the
15-day disabled list and have optioned left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin to
Triple-A Reno, according to Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin
Towers.
In his first start since returning from the disabled list with a strained left
shoulder, Saunders allowed four runs — three earned — on eight hits in six
innings of a 4-1 loss to the Cubs Saturday.
Corbin, 22, was 2-4 with a 4.15 ERA and one save in ten appearances with the
D-backs this season. He is expected to start for Triple-A Reno despite coming
out of the bullpen for Arizona.
