Arizona Cardinals outside linebackers and special teamers Dennis Gardeck and Kylie Fitts signed their one-year tenders, the team announced Thursday.
Gardeck, Arizona’s special teams captain last year, was a restricted free agent who reportedly was tendered at the second-round level. That means his contract is valued at approximately $3.4 million.
Fitts was an exclusive rights free agent.
Gardeck’s 2020 season came to an end in December due to an ACL injury that later required surgery.
In three seasons with Arizona after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Sioux Falls in 2018, the 26-year-old has amassed 34 combined tackles (28 solo), seven tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, seven sacks and two fumble recoveries in 44 appearances.
Gardeck is coming off of the best year of his career and for the first time played on defense. He was second on the team with seven sacks.
In 14 games, Gardeck played 94 snaps (9%) on defense and 315 snaps (71%) on special teams.
Fitts posted five tackles with a forced fumble in 2020.
Both players will provide depth at the edge behind expected regulars Chandler Jones, Markus Golden and Devon Kennard.
