D-backs’ Hall: ‘We’re not built to be sellers’

Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall expects the
team to be involved at the trade deadline next week.
Now, whether the team will be “buyers” or “sellers”
remains to be seen, but he says his GM, Kevin Towers, is
not one who likes to just “sit on his hands” as deals are
being made around him.
“This is the time where you throw everything on the wall
and you see what sticks,” he told Arizona Sports 620’s
Doug and Wolf Thursday.
That’s not to say a trade will happen, as Hall said if an
opportunity to make the team better presents itself they
will look into it, but as of now nothing is necessarily
imminent.
“It’s not as if we have one area that we definitely have a
need for,” he said.
That may be because the Diamondbacks, as Hall said, were
constructed to be a winning team. Sure, things have not
gone according to plan thus far in the season, but there
is a strong belief that there is enough talent on the
roster to reach the postseason.
