The Arizona Coyotes will take part in their inaugural Pride Night at Gila River Arena on Wednesday when they host the Minnesota Wild.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion are core pillars of our organization and we are excited to host our first Pride Night with our fans in the LGBTQ+ community,” Coyotes president and CEO Xavier Gutierrez said in a press release Tuesday. “It is our responsibility to celebrate all members of our community, and this is an incredible opportunity to come together through the power of sports to support equality and inclusion.”

The Coyotes endorsed ONE Community’s Unity pledge in September, an oath that signals full equality in employment, housing and public amenities for the LGBTQ+ community in Arizona.

Before the game, the National Anthem will be performed by a quartet from the Phoenix Gay Men’s Chorus and in-game content about the LGBTQ+ community will be displayed on the LED and video boards throughout the night.

In honor of Pride Night, Coyotes players will use rainbow tape during warmups, rainbow paw prints will be placed outside of Gila River Arena before the game and rainbow Coyotes fan gear will be available for purchase at the team store.
