New Arizona Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd will have some key names from last season back on his staff.

After associate head coach Jack Murphy said he would be staying in Tucson, assistant coach Jason Terry did the same on Wednesday.

Terry joined Sean Miller’s staff in May 2020 after spending a season as the assistant general manager of the G League’s Texas Legends.

That followed up a memorable run for Terry over two decades in basketball, starting with a four-year career under Lute Olson for the Wildcats from 1995-99. Terry was a part of the national championship squad in 1997 and is one of the few players to be both in the school’s Ring of Honor and have their jersey number retired.

Terry went on to go No. 10 overall in the 1999 NBA Draft to the Atlanta Hawks. He spent the next 15 years as one of the league’s most prolific scorers, notably off the bench in the second half of his career. He averaged at least 15 points per game in his last four seasons with the Hawks before making his mark for eight years with the Dallas Mavericks, including a Sixth Man of the Year nod in 2009 and championship in 2011.

After stints with Brooklyn, Boston, Houston and Milwaukee, Terry retired in 2018. He ranks seventh all-time in career three-pointers, 10th in games played, 35th in steals, 53rd in assists and 67th in points.
