Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder was ruled out for the rest of the team’s matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday due to a sprained right ankle.

In the late second quarter, Crowder made a move with the basketball, and when he planted both his feet, he had an awkward slip.

Crowder limped back on defense and stayed in the game for another 30 seconds until exiting.

Cam Johnson started the second half in place of Crowder, who started the half in the locker room before returning to the bench.

Crowder, 30, is averaging 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He has started 38 of the 54 games he’s played in, as head coach Monty Williams spent time with Johnson and Frank Kaminsky in the starting lineup before Crowder returned.

The veteran forward signed a three-year contract with the Suns this offseason and has been a key piece of one of the league’s best defenses.
