ESPN MLB insider is a fan of Tyler Skaggs

Tyler Skaggs has a lot of fans these days.

The 21-year-old lefty, who made his Major League debut for the D-backs Wednesday, allowed just two runs in 6.2 innings of work. He gave up three hits and walked five, but struck out four and got the win.

So yeah, he’s pretty well-liked right now.

“I know everybody likes him; it’s hard not to,” ESPN MLB insider Tim Kurkjian told Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and Gambo of Skaggs.

Kurkjian said he met with Skaggs in spring training and came away impressed.

“Sometimes you can tell right away when you talk to a young guy whether he gets it or not and I really sense that Tyler Skaggs gets what this is all about,” he said.
