Heading into his senior season, D.J. Foster is changing positions.
But that’s not enough to scare off prominent college football expert Phil Steele.
Steele, whose magazine hits store shelves July 1, released his preseason All-American picks Monday and he’s got the Sun Devil receiver on the Third Team, joining South Carolina’s Pharoh Cooper and Leonte Carroo of Rutgers.
Foster played running back during his first three seasons in Tempe, but was still a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield. During his career, the Scottsdale Saguaro High graduate has caught 163 passes for 1,874 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Foster is expected to lead a Sun Devil receiving corps that is trying to replace two-time All-Pac-12 selection Jaelen Strong, who was a third-round pick of the Houston Texans in the NFL Draft last month.
