After adding to the defense in Round 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals turned to the other side of the football Friday night.

With the 49th pick, the Cardinals selected Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore.

Moore has the potential to fight for immediate playing time if he can jump both Andy Isabella and KeeSean Johnson to supplement DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Christian Kirk. He’ll have to prove himself as a slot receiver, something he showed in college.

While the 5-foot-7, 181-pounder combined for just seven games over the last two seasons, Moore had an impressive 2018 that saw him reel in 114 receptions for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also ran the rock 21 times for 213 yards and two scores.

The Purdue wideout helped his stock by running a 4.29-second 40-yard dash and posted a 42.5-inch vertical leap during the school’s pro day.

Pro Football Focus’ grading system sure sees Moore as more than a freak athlete.

He posted the third-best rating among outside receivers in the Big Ten over the past two years, behind Minnesota’s Rashod Bateman and Ohio State’s Chris Olave.

NFL Network’s Lance Zierlein compares the wideout to the Seattle Seahawks’ Tyler Lockett. The draft analyst highlighted Moore’s ability to get off the snap in a hurry and has above-average play strength for his size.
