If there has been a bright spot to the Arizona Diamondbacks season so far it has to be their young pitchers.
Shortstop Willie Bloomquist joined Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and Gambo on Thursday and talked about the group consisteng of Wade Miley, Patrick Corbin and Tyler Skaggs.
“Those guys have come up and done an amazing job. You look at the kind of year Wade has had, with starting the year in the bullpen. He made the team in the spring. You’ve seen the year he is putting up, he’s been outstanding,” Bloomquist said. “And then Corbin and Skaggs coming up and throwing the ball they way they’ve been doing has been great.”
One prospect that didn’t pitch well when given his chance this season was Trevor Bauer. Bauer has been dominant in the minor leagues but couldn’t hold the same level of success in his four games with the Diamondbacks.
